RONALD BULLOCK VS. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

This petition was submitted in 2009, accepted as Petition 300-09 in 2014, and ruled as a Case in 2018. Ronald Bullock was convicted in 1986 and sentenced to 60 years in prison for rape and sexual assault. After serving 12 years in prison, he received a pardon from the Governor of Illinois and accepted $20,000 in compensation. Mr. Bullock suffered ill-treatment and torture while in detention, in the context of widespread abuses against African-Americans targeted for their political activities by the City of Chicago law-enforcement authorities and is seeking appropriate compensation.
