RONALD BULLOCK VS. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
This petition was submitted in 2009, accepted as Petition 300-09 in 2014, and ruled as a Case in 2018. Ronald Bullock was convicted in 1986 and sentenced to 60 years in prison for rape and sexual assault. After serving 12 years in prison, he received a pardon from the Governor of Illinois and accepted $20,000 in compensation. Mr. Bullock suffered ill-treatment and torture while in detention, in the context of widespread abuses against African-Americans targeted for their political activities by the City of Chicago law-enforcement authorities and is seeking appropriate compensation.

This petition concerning the BC Ministry’s serial seizure of six children of Lil’wat mother Loni Edmonds was submitted in 2007, accepted as such in 2011, and ruled as a case in 2014, It may be the primary case at IACHR related to the now highly publicized issue of Canada’s seizure of Indigenous Nations children.
